If The Wubbes Collective doesn't mean anything to you today, it won't be anymore soon, because these guys work hard and have everything they need to step out of the shadows.

The group doesn't need lead vocals because they let music speak with melodies, dynamics and rhythms. The collective encourages listeners to move and to dance. TWC delivers delivers an experience.

This Limburg foursome has its roots in the mining region and was born from Joseph Rogiers, a young expressive drummer. He is also the enthusiastic MC at live performances. Sandro Planas and Tibo Put, on guitar and keyboards respectively, deliver playful but also lived-in melodies. They regularly duel and complement each other. As a bass player, Evrim Talanci not only delivers low tones, as a Turkish Fleming he also personifies the crossover of cultures. In some songs he swaps the bass guitar for the saz.

The end product is minimalist rhythmic funk with a touch of jazz, rock, world and Turkish influences. Partly because of the playful melodies, their music reminds some of Vulfpeck. Fans of the genre may also recognize the influence of the legendary trendsetter The Meters, but a comparison with today's The Fearless Flyers is not far away either.

Anglo-Saxons, but also everyone else will probably wonder where the name The Wubbes Collective comes from. The group name is inspired by the love for the dialect, 'wubbes' or 'getting the wubbes of something' is 'getting the jitters' or in the worst case 'getting something or someone on your nerves'. But the latter surely does not apply to The Wubbes Collective.
