Waves exist in patterns. So where does a lone wave come from? Where does it lead? Anything this wave sweeps up is potential to lend a voice to. Not surprisingly, The Lost Wave is also made up of cross-border artists (BE, NL, ES) in a wide range of styles, spearheaded by the powerful mezzo-soprano of Marissa Kramer.

Funk bangers + Headphone bangers

With this sweeping approach, the Lost Wave isn’t caught up in a niche. All emotions are given space to be explored, ranging from ecstasy to melancholy. Just as it is in people, just as is it in nature. The logical result: live funk bangers and brooding headphone bangers exist side by side without contradiction.

To distill all this into a cohesive sound, the band first put in the work. After two years and dozens of songs crafted, The Lost Wave has entered the live circuit. Expect a mix of alternative, funk, indie with even hints of Spanish music, classical and fingerstyle folk.

Live band

On the one hand this is a quintessential live band, with the type of gig you want to be at again and again. This music is intended as a wave that sweeps over the crowd, to create that collective energy. This is nuanced but accessible music. It’s intense at times, but it’s also a load of fun. This is a music not ashamed to be sincere.

The lone nightcrowd

Yet, The Lost Wave also represents the lone night headphone crowd. Darker feelings are acknowledged and given room to be explored. Anxieties, worries for our climate and society, old wounds,.. it’s a space to be yourself. Being together in this, it creates potential to build from.
