Sarah Lema Quintet is a five-member band consisting of young musicians who met each other at the Conservatory of Antwerp.

With Winter Dieleman on flugelhorn and trumpet, Rune De Groote on drums, Tristan Baars on bass, Flor Wellens on piano, and Sarah Lema as a composer on vocals, they form a band that focuses on a fresh take on both traditional & modern (Latin) jazz, as well as the original compositions of singer Sarah Lema. In her own work, there's influences from (modern) jazz, neo-soul, folk, but also a note of singer-songwriter music here and there . Together, they focus on spontaneity, energy, and evoking emotion.

They use a 'standard' jazz-formation and start from the sound this provides, but make it completely their own by bringing their unique take on the pieces to the table.
