Imagine Jimi Hendrix with zero self-control, or Frank Zappa and The Mars Volta cooking up something way too energetic for its own good, fed on odd time signatures and abused distortion pedals.

That experiment is called SOY FISH.

Born in Ostend, this Belgian trio bends jazz, experimental rock, blues, and psychedelia into something loud, restless, and hard to pin down. We sit comfortably outside any scene or genre, and we plan to keep it that way. No tidy labels, no easy references, no shortcuts.

The music twists when you don’t expect it, hits hard when you least expect it, and pulls you off balance with raw riffs, strange rhythms, and melodies that refuse to play it safe. It’s tight and aggressive, but packed with detail and surprises.

If genres feel limiting and you’re looking for something that overwhelms, challenges, and sticks with you, you’ll feel right at home.
