Soothe began as a personal and creative outlet for self-taught singer-songwriter Benina. Inspired by her brother, she picked up the guitar at 17, but it wasn’t until after his passing that she began writing her own songs. As if still hiding away in her bedroom, she writes about growing up and finding a place in the world. What started as a handful of rough demos soon took on new life when musicians Haiko, Bob, and Bram joined the project. United by a shared love for shoegaze, the group came together in 2022 and has been evolving their sound ever since.
