Bio
Attracted by the impressive size of the instrument, Kaat started studying the double bass at the age of 9. After seven years of intense study and playing in a classical orchestra, she broadened her musical horizon and switched to the electric bass, which better suited her changing musical rock and pop taste.
Wim started his musical journey during his teenage years by playing guitar in several metal and rock bands, followed by a musical sabbatical of more than two decades, after which he started studying music theory, classical music and cello for more than ten years. But blood is thicker than water and some years ago he returned to his first love, the electric guitar and founded Red Scalene in September 2022 with his bandmates to write and perform own material.
Alain, aka 'Kurt Klang', started his musical career unexpectedly and in an improvised way as bass player of the Punk formation X-Pulsion in October 1977. Between 1978 and 1982, Alain played with New Wave band Klang. The band won the Hitkrant Talent Contest in 1980 and scored hits with the singles 'Beat It', Wailing in the Moonlight' and 'Familiy Life'. Many years later, after a long break from music, Alain returned as guitarist and singer-songwriter for Kap'tain HeroiK, roles which he now fullfills in Red Scalene.
Strongly influenced by rock icons like Lenny Krativz, David Bowie, Pearl Jam and Golden Earring, they started working on their setlist, a mix of Pop, Rock & Ballads, own songs as well as some covers.
