Born in 1986 in Istanbul, Okan Pehlivan is originally from Erzincan. He began playing the baglama at the age of 8. He took lessons from renowned teachers such as Erdal Erzincan and Deniz Güneş, and in 2000 was admitted to the Istanbul Technical University Conservatory. In 2006, he joined the Istanbul City Hall Folk Music Orchestra, where he played baglama, tar and bass baglama for 6 years. In 2015, the artist moved to France and released his debut album Sırdem in 2021 under the label of his own production company Okan Pehlivan Production. The artist continues his career with his solo and duo works.
