The new Ola Tunji quintet is moving in this direction, where musical interplay becomes a powerful and expressive whole, where perception of what is created is a reflection of the fullness and greatness of this music, an overwhelming feeling that passes through each one of them.

Its members met and started playing together before summer of 2023 and then united in the passion that each felt towards the spiritual and musical life of John Coltrane.

The connection between them in and out the music life started to appear, as the time passed for the different members of O.T, a path to follow seemed to form itself, like a vision shared through every feeling, a message is to deliver, felt like a mission offered to them.

They started playing more and more toghether, trying to create new music with Coltrane’s gift to life, his music, and from that base, elevating themselves to compose, to express their own personal form of music through improvisation.

They play for love, compassion, Joy, serenity as meditations and prayers that bring them back to a deeper humanity in the music.

Ola Tunji are set the record their debut album this summer, they have not chosen their label yet, the decision should be taken soon.
