Neighborman is the musical project of Tim Leenards, where alternative indie, americana and folk rock come together in heartfelt songs and honest storytelling.

As a songwriter, Tim looks for beauty in the things that often go unspoken. His songs explore the inner workings of everyday life: getting stuck in your own thoughts, holding on to someone for too long and losing yourself in the process, or finding your way back to yourself and making room again for hope, happiness and connection.

On record, he builds each song entirely himself, from writing and arranging to performing and recording every part. This gives the songs a distinctly personal character, with layered arrangements and subtle details that leave room for the stories at their heart.

Live, that personal foundation takes on a different scale. With a five-piece band and layered vocal harmonies, the songs gain depth, dynamics and intensity. Fragile moments can effortlessly grow into broad, immersive passages, without losing the intimacy and sincerity at the heart of the songs.

When the full band is not possible, Neighborman takes on a more stripped-back form as a duo. Guitar, piano and vocals form the foundation, complemented by electronic layers that add depth and texture. A smaller setup, but with no less impact.

In whatever form, Neighborman makes music that gets under your skin: personal enough to reveal something of himself, yet familiar enough to find a part of your own story in.

Following performances in 2026, including at AFF Festival, Neighborman is currently working towards the release of his debut album, scheduled for autumn 2027, preceded by a series of singles starting in spring 2027.

"..."Dat Leenards nu slechts een jaartje bezig is onder deze naam, zou je daarnaast allerminst zeggen, want het klonk allemaal best sterk."..."Afsluiter “Last Cigarette” zou bijvoorbeeld wel een opstapje richting iets groters kunnen zijn"..."
