VI.BE

Hey! I’m Maxim, a jazz bassist from Ghent, Belgium, and soon-to-be student at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. I’ve been playing music since I was a kid, hopping between genres before falling in love with jazz. A lot of that came from my obsession with improvising on the piano—something about the freedom just clicked for me. These days, I’m all about the bass, drawing inspiration from legends like Jaco Pastorius and Kinga Głyk.

I’ve played cool spots like under 'Het Schapenstal' at Gentse Feesten, and this summer, my quartet is hitting Jazz Damme after winning the Dragon Jazz Contest. Super excited for that! If you’re into groove-driven jazz with some spontaneity, let’s connect!

I'm available for gigs and look forward to working with you!
