Somewhere during the advent of the post-corona era, something began to grow at the walhalla of Van Eyck, located in the city of Brussels. In a mythical place called ‘The Big Room’ nine Fungi slowly but surely rose up from these magical and nutritious grounds. As spontaneous as the growth of fungus comes about, as spontaneous came the love for each other and this little community we created. Mama Fungi was born.

All this unanticipated energy originated from one particular spawn: the love for music. As we have now surpassed Fungi-childhood, we are currently growing through adolescence, totaling 10 Fungi. We Fungilescents are boisterous, enthusiastic, imperfect, but most of all impatient to take you all along on our trip.

Our musical journey is best described as a continuous search for sound in which each of the individual fungus' idiosyncrasies are represented. At least for now, our musical palette is influenced by a confluence of sounds reminiscent of jazz, dub, reggae, rock, and funk. What the future holds remains to be discovered.
