More than just crossing the Belgian and Dutch country borders, Low State brings a cross of melancholic indie rock and catchy pop noise. The two-piece was long in the making after Brussels-based Koen Coonen (Escape Escape) and Tom de Groot (The Anchor Creek) residing in Amsterdam met in 2017 and toured together with their respective bands. Ever since the duo planned to make music together.

Low State finally took its final form mid-2023. Coming together to define their sound and write and record, followed by remote home studio sessions in their respective cities. Sending new song ideas and takes for existing songs back and forth.

Only half a year after the first writing sessions, Low State got together again to record their first two singles in a remote cabin in the woods. The self-produced debut features a mix of punchy drums, melodic basslines, exciting guitars, and lush synths. Always accompanied by complex yet catchy lyrics.

Joined by a couple of befriended session musicians, they will be hitting live stages in 2024.
