Bio

From Chinese dragon-dance drums, to Indian radio stations on corner shops, gregorian chants on Sunday, to "Lose Yourself" in secret with his elder brother, music was a dirty mix of adrenaline and joy growing up in Southeast Asia.

At age fourteen, Luan learns the guitar, performing in various rock acts. Five years later, a uni-dropout sleeping rough and overcoming an emotional meltdown in rural France, he writes his Indie-Folk debut in a shed without plumbing or electricity while working factory night shifts. A near-catastrophic flood abruptly ends this six month period, lending the name to his first album : “Floodmark”.

Years later, in a deathground attempt to fix his fumbling twenties, Luan drives 1000 miles to Brussels with a few belongings and a winter’s worth of cash-savings, stashed in a PVC tube under the driver’s seat. Dedicated to making it as a musician.

Almost burning out of resources, Luan makes it to late 2020 securing a job and home, months before the Coronavirus pandemic. Unemployed, as the country suffers a second lockdown, he spends his four months of welfare frantically finishing the work leading up to his second album, the conceptual ‘I’m Not Here Any More’, a semi-autobiographical anti-hero’s attempt to escape from the entrapments of a home town.

In 2023 Langer was a finalist out of 300 artists in Odezenne's 'GRAND PRIX' music contest. Applied to with 2 songs from his self-produced album 'The Waves Are Our Goodbyes'. An eclectic 10-minute roller coaster written from scratch in 24 hours. People compare his music to Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell and Ben Howard.
