His grandfather played the accordion and must have been a local hero on any festive occasion. A post-war story tells that there was an afternoon of partying and dancing to the sounds of that accordion when a family member returned from captivity (June 1945).

Steven Ribus never heard his grandfather play, but is certain that he passed on a passion for music to the next generations. His grandfather's name was Jules so Steven has been "Jules' grandson" since 1982.

With the alter ego 'Jules Grandson' aka 'the Jules Grandson project', Steven Ribus now brings jazz, house and vibraphone. It may have sounded different in the 1940s and later, but it is still an ode to Jules.
