Pepete is Jade and her little dog Alfie, a duo who can’t help but turn a hundred thousand ego bruises into frivolous songs — because otherwise they wouldn’t know what to do with all that cringe. Self-mockery and turning Ableton upside down is her medicine.

Chasing the sonic world of artists like Oklou — after being forever changed by her album Galore — Pepete dreams of becoming a Flemish French pop artist, but doesn’t actually speak French. She produces her songs in her bedroom. They’re imperfect, often autotuned, sometimes out of tune, childlike and unpolished — but they do their best. The sound is meant to be as raw and honest as the feelings behind it.

Pepete writes about her mind twisting wonderings: How everything in life can be traced back to the way her monkey mind interprets reality — and how that interpretation can lead to suffering. How lonely that space can be, and how deeply human it is, because it’s something that binds and unites us all into one.
