Jacky Liu Project is a dynamic ensemble led by saxophonist and EWI player Jacky (Yanfeng Liu) from Shenzhen, China. After honing his craft for five transformative years at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels, Jacky has embarked on an exciting journey to share his musical vision through this innovative project.

The Jacky Liu Project showcases a collection of original compositions that draw inspiration from jazz luminaries such as Steps Ahead, Michael Brecker, and Pierre Van Dormael. With a diverse lineup of musicians from Italy, Germany, and France, the band explores new sonic landscapes and creative approaches to performance, resulting in a captivating blend of cultural influences and musical styles. The members of the Jacky Liu Project not only seek to push the boundaries of jazz but also prioritize the joy of musical collaboration, making every concert an unforgettable experience for both the band and their audience.

In the past year, the Jacky Liu Project has graced the stages of esteemed venues such as The Sounds Jazz Club and Roskam, showcasing its unique sound and captivating performances. This January, it continued to make waves at The Music Village. On March 21st, it was honored to be selected for the prestigious B-Jazz International Jazz Contest, where it will perform in Harelbeke, Belgium. Looking ahead, the band is eagerly applying to participate in the Brussels Jazz Weekend this coming May.
