Anyone who attended a concert in N9 villa in 2019 might have seen them in the audience. Local musicians Alexander De Baedts (The Music Box) and Michiel Foré (Karibu Orchestra) attended just about every concert that year. And they did that for a reason, because they were working on a new musical project.

The two recorded every soundcheck and concert and went to work with those live recordings. They served as a source of inspiration for jam sessions with musician friends, including some (former) Artists in Residence of music club N9. Those jams were also recorded, and after a lot of cutting and pasting and overdubs, that resulted in a collection of new songs. Alexander and Michiel named their new project Hoor and had the songs pressed on vinyl in a limited edition: 'Across the House of Ill Fame - part one'.

They put together a new band for the release show in december 2022. In addition to Alexander (guitar) and Michiel (drums), Werend Van Den Bossche (Dishwasher_ - sax), Matthias Dewilde (Nagløed - keys) and Bruno Coussée (Rheinzand - bass) also play. More recently they have played shows with Wim Segers (Paard, Compro Oro - vibraphone). Together they bring a mix of tracks from the album and songs that didn't make it to the record. The main ingredient of the set remains improvisation.

Due to the chemistry that developed during this live show and the positive reactions from the audience it was immediately clear that this project had to continue and a music group was born with the ambition to play live.
