Bio
Born in Yaoundé, with roots spanning Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville and Belgium, Goldenynice is a Brussels-based DJ exploring the richness of Afro-diasporic music through the lens of contemporary electronic club culture. Her sets weave together Afro-rooted rhythms, contemporary electronic sounds and bass-driven club music, inviting audiences on a journey where genres flow naturally into one another.
Her DJ journey began in 2025 after attending a workshop led by DJ and producer Rrita Jashari. Since then, she has continued to develop her craft through practice, curiosity and community, most recently taking part in the Nightlab workshop programme organised by Black Mamba at Ancienne Belgique.
Deeply inspired by the diversity of Afro-diasporic musical traditions, Goldenynice creates sets that move between Amapiano, Gqom, Afro-electronic sounds and contemporary club music. Rather than focusing on genres themselves, she explores the connections between them, creating spaces where rhythms, cultures and connection meet on the dancefloor.
Her musical universe is shaped by artists and collectives such as Bambii, Lamsi and the Montréal-based collective Moonshine, whose boundary-pushing approach to club music continues to influence her sonic exploration.
Beyond the booth, Goldenynice is also the founder and curator of Sound'n Soul's, a Brussels-based platform dedicated to celebrating Afro-diasporic artists and communities. Whether through her events or her DJ sets, she approaches music as a space for connection, discovery and collective celebration.
