Musical curiosity runs like a thread throughout Fold Marks's life. Starting to learn the piano at a young age, the radius of musical interest and activity gradually broadened to encompass (among others) metal, brass bands, film music and a musicology degree.

All this time, the piano remained an important and reliable source to return to. A source of experiment, expression and comfort. With every return, weaving its way further into the the fold marks of life.

2025 will see the release of Fold Marks’s debut album “Shadow cuts”, inspired by a famous text passage from C. de Latour’s “Les Antiques”. Piano solo songs about light cutting through shadow and shadow cutting through light. For fans of Nils Frahm, Carlos Cipa, Felix Rösch and Hania Rani.
