David Van Ransbeeck, a Belgian violinist and composer with Polish roots living in Leuven, doesn't limit himself to one style of music. You can find him performing with classical and pop orchestras, folk and funk bands, and as a soloist. He also regularly joins in jazz sessions and international music jams. All these influences are reflected in his compositions.

"Strings Attached" is his latest composition for solo violin, created in collaboration with dance group Compagnie J and performed live on stage in February and March 2024. It's last performance took place at the dance festival "Dansen in't Park" in Sint-Amandsberg.

Some highlights of the past few years include a concert tour with Hans Zimmer, productions with the National Orchestra of Belgium and tours with "Night of the Proms", sharing the stage with artists such as Melanie C (Spice Girls), Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Toto, Anastacia, Kool and the Gang, Amy McDonald, Seal...

During the 2021 lockdown, David created and produced the audiovisual project "Alone but not forgotten, music in iconic places" with cellist Christoph Bunzendahl.

Classically trained musician, David received his Masters degree at the Lemmensinstitute in Leuven in 2006, where he also completed his teachers training. He then continued working with Robert Szreder at the conservatory of Maastricht.

Besides performing and composing, David teaches musical improvisation. When not working on his music, David is a professional photographer who also enjoys experimenting with video.

He is interested in getting involved in diverse musical and artistic collaborations or new creative projects.
