Catskills are a new four-piece based in Brussels, formed by Gregory Vandermeiren (vocals, guitar), Jorn Lelong (guitar), Nick Elles (drums) and Ewoud Ceulemans (bass). Together they have been crafting their songs for over a year, taking inspiration from post-punk bands such as Fontaines D.C., Interpol and The National and post-rock acts such as Mogwai, but using these influences to find their own sound. Their wall of sound is decorated with intricate guitar parts; the hits of loudness are softened by soothing melodies. With a catalogue of songs that were born in a sweaty studio in Saint-Gilles, Catskills are now ready to take their songs to the stage.

Catskills is een nieuw viertal uit Brussel, gevormd door Gregory Vandermeiren (zang, gitaar), Jorn Lelong (gitaar), Nick Elles (drums) en Ewoud Ceulemans (bas). Samen schaven ze al ruim een jaar aan hun songs, waarbij ze inspiratie vinden bij postpunkbands als Fontaines D.C. en Interpol en The National en postrockacts als Mogwai. Ze gebruiken deze invloeden om hun eigen geluid te vinden. Hun wall of sound is versierd met fijnmazige gitaarpartijen; het luide slaan wordt gezalfd door zachte melodieën. Met een catalogus aan songs die ontstonden in een zweterige studio in Sint-Gillis, is Catskills nu klaar om hun songs te tonen op het podium.
