C I M E is a Belgian artist with Ethiopian roots, born in Linkeroever in 2003. Raised between Belgium and Addis Ababa, his worldview was shaped by moving between two very different environments from an early age. This dual perspective became a defining element of his music, creating a bridge between cultures, experiences and identities.

In 2021, he returned to Antwerp to continue his studies, leaving behind a turbulent situation in Ethiopia that continues to influence much of his artistic expression. These experiences form an underlying current in his work, sometimes subtly referenced and sometimes explored more deeply in unreleased material and upcoming projects.

After settling in Lier, C I M E spent countless hours at the local youth centre recording and developing his sound. During this time he released some of his early tracks, including Overtime, War and DFOP (Greatness). His sharp lyricism and introspective writing quickly helped him gain recognition within the underground scene.

Between the end of 2023 and throughout 2024 and 2025, he steadily built his reputation through live performances, starting with open mics and eventually being booked as an opening act for established artists. In 2024, he became the first Young Air resident at Trix, marking an important milestone in his artistic development.

The following year proved to be a breakthrough. In 2025, C I M E opened for major artists, released his debut ep “Not Entertainment” and was selected for Sound Track progressing from the opening round in Turnhout all the way to the finals on the main stage at Trix.

His music blends introspective rap with themes of self-worth, identity and defiance to name a few. With a growing presence and a clear artistic vision, C I M E continues to shape not only his music but also the movement surrounding it.

Now a full resident at Trix, he dedicates his time to refining his craft and expanding his artistic reach. With momentum building and a powerful story behind his work, C I M E is an artist to watch as he continues to carve out his place in the scene.
