Bio

BLOEMWERK's story starts long before Berlin.

Growing up in Belgium, he was introduced to electronic music through his older brother, discovering everything from trance, electro and dance music to drum & bass at an early age. Fascinated by sound and the worlds it could open, he spent much of his youth searching for new music, attending events on his own and developing an obsession with the culture surrounding the dancefloor. Alongside this came drumming, singing, dancing and a deep appreciation for music far beyond electronic genres.

Years later, that curiosity brought him to Berlin, where he spent more than four years immersed in the city's underground music culture. There he developed not only as a DJ, but as a community builder, organiser and trusted presence within the nightlife ecosystem.

Beyond the booth, BLOEMWERK played a fundamental role within the ANIMA event series, helping shape its atmosphere and community while serving for years as one of the familiar faces welcoming people into the experience. He also worked the door for Feieramt and became deeply involved in the social fabric that exists around club culture rather than merely on top of it.

His musical journey unfolded through countless extended sets aboard the Paco Calito party boat, intimate afterhours gatherings, community events and club nights across Germany and Belgium. Performances include Funke in Ghent, where he appeared both during a Window Session alongside Wannes Lenaers and as an opening act for a club night, Gedwee at Bootstraat in his hometown of Hasselt, Crack Bellmer for Somoja Tribe, Fitzroy Club with Sublime Neukölln, Aeden Berlin for Triebwerk Kollektiv and numerous independent events throughout Berlin's underground scene.

As a selector, BLOEMWERK is less interested in genre boundaries than in atmosphere. His sets move through deep house, tribal rhythms, hypnotic techno, dubby textures and unexpected emotional turns, carrying traces of soul, funk, rock, gospel choirs and psychedelic music. Warm basslines meet guiding percussion, sensual grooves dissolve into moments of melancholy, and tension slowly unfolds into release.

There is something unmistakably physical about a BLOEMWERK set. Earthy, immersive and slightly swampy, it invites people closer together rather than pushing them apart. Not towards spectacle, but towards movement, intimacy and shared experience.

For BLOEMWERK, club culture is at its best when it feels human: a room full of strangers briefly becoming part of the same story.
