Once upon a time in the west , there was a bar owner who took her first steps into the music scene. She went by the name BADJOKO. She is born in kinshasa and based in the coastal city of Ostend Belgium (the west😉)

Let’s go back in time

Hail hail rock ‘n’ roll (song by garland jeffries)! Those were the first lyrics that came out of her 3 year old mouth, sitting in her child seat in the backseat of the car.

That is where she got the most of her music education. In the car, her parents played all the music that later inspired BADJOKO in her own music. Artists such as the gap band, george Benson, luther vandross, sade, micheal jackson, prince, shaka khan, aretha Franklin and many more. She felt the joy, the energy the vibe and the freedom of the past and gravitated towards Motown, disco, soul, r’n’b and funk.

Gimme that beat!

Making her first steps into music and having performed a few times. It just wasn’t enough for BADJOKO. Then as it only happens in fairytales. She met Kristof Saelen. He became her producer. After convincing him of her songwriting skills, they started collaborating. He understood her need to go back, back in time.

Bored by the rules and chains in this society, she wants 2 bring back those BIG feelings of FUN, FREEDOM, HAPPINESS and SEXYNESS. That is what her first EP is all about. Do you wanna get down, follow me so we can all be free!
