Bio

Born to Algerian Belgian heritage and raised in West Flanders, Arezki has developed a style that combines soulful vocals with the warmth of acoustic guitar and lately with modern beats. One of his greatest strengths is the ability to convey complex emotions through songs & his lyrics often explore love, pain, and hope.

Arezki’s debut EP “Happier with Pills” (2023) shows off his emotive songwriting approach. Created in the wake of his personal struggle with an autoimmune illness, the project tells his story through chronic pain and dependence on prescribed opioids. Across seven tracks, Arezki invites listeners into an intimate story: the early songs delve into themes of emotional desire and substance use, with just his guitar over minimalistic beats. As the album unfolds, the narrative shifts from darkness to light, later tracks reveal a turning point as he moves away from reliance on prescriptions, finding an alternative path to healing.

Beyond the studio, Arezki has been working on his craft on stage in local venues. He often used to perform in intimate settings with just his voice and guitar, creating a genuine connection with the audience. He played unplugged sets at small Belgian cafés (such as the art café Barlaban in Roeselare) to bring his story directly to listeners. These performances reflect the same reality found in his studio recordings.
