Bio
Brussels-based pianist and arranger Louise Andri created Aishinka — “the evolution of love” — drawing from 20th-century Bulgarian polyphonies, which she reinvents with a contemporary sensibility.
Led by three female voices and an instrumental ensemble (saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums), the music moves between sparks of joyful, dance-like energy and vast contemplative landscapes, like wide plains where voices intertwine and breathe freely.
Aishinka touches something essential: a music of the heart that connects, brings people together, and gives rise to a simple and profound sense of connection, revealing within each of us joy, light, and hope.
This distinctive artistic statement has not gone unnoticed by juries of European jazz competitions: Aishinka was awarded the “B-Jazz International Contest 2019” and the “Maastricht Jazz Awards 2020”, leading to performances on major European stages.
