Bio
Patamusician, Brazilian multi-percussionist from the city of Sao Vicente, Nyllo Canela has been passionate about the percussion world for more than 17 years. Curious, he explores and seeks to broaden his horizons in search of new sounds.
He started with the master Brazilian percussionists like Orlando Costa and Arrepiado, who taught him samba, afoxé, sambareggae, maracatu and other exotic rhythms. His musical sensitivity leads him to share the stage with great international artists: Seu Jorge, Paula Lima, Monica Passos, Benito de Paula, Arlindo and Sombrinha, Chico César, etc.
Nyllo Canela personalizes his percussion set according to the place, the moment, the audience, the inspiration. His interest in current, folkloric and experimental music is shaped through new musical encounters and sharing. Tirelessly, he continued his research and mastered other percussion instruments: the Indian tabla, the Arabic derbake, the tama, the bata, the cajon, the djembe and other instruments constructed from recycled objects such as PVC pipes. , gas canisters, buckets and tires.
