Chris Mortier is a Belgian singer song writer, living close to Ghent. He is a self-taught musician and has been playing cover music practically his whole life. Fun, good vibes, happy people while performing …groovy indeed. A perfect way to stay tuned and to keep on practicing. But there was something missing ... On the occasion would he write some material of his own, on and off for many years, but he never truly decided to take it further until recently. Some of his friends listened to his demos and convinced him to take his own project more seriously, and at last, he decided to finish all those songs he once started roughly. He was introduced to Jean Pol Cornelis, producer /arranger and those 2 polished the songs for many hours and nights. They call their music vintage pop rock. The lyrics are well thought through. Chris's wife is American, and she likes to help find combinations of words and sentences with a deeper meaning. Their influences are really broad. Chris studied piano in his teenager years, sliding trombone, guitar, and can perfectly appreciate a waltz of Chopin and make the switch to a juicy AC/DC riff. Jean Pol,also almost selfmade, with roots in folk, blues and jazz,reaching for that broad musical pallette, became a professional musician in his twenties.In their ears…everything is possible. Their musical taste is also very diverse. But some are part of their inner happiness and fulfilment : David Bowie, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Abba ( oh yeah ), the close harmonies of Crosby Still Nash and Young, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, the Who, Steely Dan, Arno, Stevie Wonder, … this kind of music lifts them up and ...puts a big smile on their face !!!.
