WLAZLO leads you to a smoky bar where a poet takes the stage and recites stories about love, growing up, and life in the city. He's backed by instrumentals that will make you dance to spoken word like you've never done before.
WLAZLO began in 2019 in Brussels, Belgium. Fronted by singer and poet Mattijs Deraedt, this international mix of musicians invites you into their universe - a blend of rock, indie and spoken word.
WLAZLO is Robert Souery (BE/IT), Robin Murphy (UK), Roel Gysemans (BE) and Mattijs Deraedt (BE).
They took their first steps with their single Footprints, that was released in April 2020 and got airplay on Radio 1. But it was during the lockdown that the band fully developed its sound and wrote their first EP, which will be released in 2022. They are working with producer Thomas Valkiers (Equal Idiots, High Hi, Double Veterans) and released the first single of the EP, Halfway, in October 2020. The single was mixed by Thomas Valkiers and mastered by Uwe Teichert.
Make sure to keep an eye on their schedule as tour dates will be added.
