VALKYRE was formed at the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005 by Kris Scheerlinck after leaving his former band SENGIR. The band consists of different well-trained musicians coming from different styles of music but with the same common interest : melodic atmospherical metal.

VALKYRE’s style can be described as a mixture from gothic-metal, classical music, folkmusic and melodic metal. Influenced by bands as Therion, In Extremo, Nightwish and Kamelot this band provides you with a nice blend of atmosphere and metal heaviness.

After a break of 2 years, 2 successful sold-out demo’s and about 100 concerts all over Europe VALKYRE inked a deal with the new German label Valkyrie Rising (what’s in a name?).

As a result in march 2014, Our Glorious Demise, the first full length album was released. This album contains 10 tracks and was recorded in different homestudio’s and at the Jonathas Studio under supervision of Xavier Carion, the former Channel Zero riffmeister.

The Mixing was done by Siggi Bemm at the Woodhouse Studio in Hagen (Germany). Siggi being responsible of the best albums of The Gathering, Lacuna Coil, Moonspell and more recently Amaranth, delivered another masterpiece in melodic metal with Our Glorious Demise.
