Herfst 2019. PD Martin (aka Piet Vercauteren) en zijn band trekken de wereld in als een rechttoe rechtaan bluestrio. Maar de klasieke twaalf maten blijken niet genoeg voor hen en al snel verlaten ze het vertrouwde pad. Elke song, elke show wordt een verkenningstocht die hen dieper het drasland intrekt waar de grens tussen vurige blues en dampende funk vervaagt. Het drasland waar hun hartslag één wordt met het oerritme van de almachtige Soulbeat.

Met de toevoeging van toetsen groeit het powertrio uit tot een funky blues ‘n soul kwartet.

Sterke composities, een retestrakke ritmesectie, gevatte teksten en virtuoos toetsen- en gitaarspel vormen het handelsmerk van deze opwindende band.

Begin 2023 komt het album “Soulbeat Incarnate” uit. Een diverse verzameling van elf originele nummers.

In oktober 2024 wordt PD Martin de winnaar van The Belgian Blues Challenge.

Autumn 2019. PD Martin (aka Piet Vercauteren) and his band hit the trail as a straightforward blues-trio. But twelve bars ain’t enough and soon they are leaving the main road. Gig by gig, song by song they make their way through a wetland of blues and funk, ever groovin’ to the rhythm of the almighty Soulbeat.

With the addition of keys, the powertrio evolves into a funky blues ‘n soul quartet.

Strong compositions, an ultra-tight rhythm section, witty lyrics and brilliant piano- and guitarplaying form the trademark of this exciting band.

With the start of 2023 comes the release of the album “Soulbeat Incarnate”. A diverse collection of eleven original songs.

In October 2024 PD Martin becomes the winner of The Belgian Blues Challenge.
