Bio

Broes is terug…

Broes has returned… Stronger than ever!

After their first successful album “Route du soleil”, released in 2015, the quintet took its time to reflect, mature and grow.

Jazz bass player Zjef Van Steenbergen and allround percussionist Gielis Cautaers were welcomed into the team, and they soon turned out to be the perfect addition to the existing foundation with Florian De Schepper on guitar, Anouk Sanczuk on the fiddle and Elke De Meester on the chromatic accordion.

Musical fireworks are inevitable when you blend 5 topnotch musicians!

Versatile virtuosos playing amusing arrangements on their new album. They obviously share the same vibe on stage.

Just like their previous album, “Botanist” solely consists of their own compositions. The diverse compositions unmistakably form a homogeneous mixture due to the typically warm Broes sound.

In the 11 tracks there is a clever mixture between calm - meditative and energetic - danceable moods, and every now and then you can hear Arabic, Irish, French, Balkan and even African influences.

The band members have truly figured out the direction they want to follow, and through this album, the listener gets a unique opportunity to dive into their musical souls.

Broes can submit an impressive track record of live performances: they were on stage at almost every big Belgian folk festival (such as Boombalfestival, Gooikoorts, Dranouter, Na fir Bolg, Labadoux), but beside that, they have performed on international stages as well (such as festivals in Belarus, China, Hong Kong, Portugal, Greece, The Netherlands, Italy, Romania..)

They all are excited and impatient to go places and perform!

Leaning on a strong live reputation, they will certainly fascinate and enchant dancer or listener.
