Zinne Kabar
Zinne Kabar, maloya music (Réunion). Driven by a powerful rhythm section and multiple voices, the project develops a collective, festive and captivating energy.
Bio
Zinne Kabar, a project recently launched in Brussels, draws its inspiration from maloya, the traditional music of Réunion characterised by powerful rhythms, singing and great spirituality. Based on original compositions by Jean-Didier Hoareau, the group explores a lively form of maloya, rooted in the past but resolutely turned towards the future.
Driven by a powerful acoustic percussion section, enriched by multiple voices and Latin-African influences, the project develops a collective, festive and captivating energy.
Around Jidé, a cosmopolitan collective has gathered, where each voice, each body, each breath vibrates to the sound of traditional percussion: Veronica Campos (Chile), Guillaume Codutti (Belgium), Romain Duyckaerts (Belgium), Camille Naples (South America) and Chaska Camargo (Peru) form a powerful and sensitive rhythmic cell. Together, they create deeply collective music, rooted in Maloya and reinvented in the moment.
Zinne Kabar is a modern-day kabar, where the memory of Réunion blends with the present in a universal vibration. A celebration of life, connection and inner fire.
