After the stirring experience involving his band Transparent Curse, Wim Dielen decides to create a new band in autumn 2007. With Katharine De Groote (vocals) there is a lot of experimenting with electronics and guitars. In 2011 this results in the mini debut album "On Being Sane in Insane Places", produced by Gaëtan Vandewoude of Isbells. The twosome name their band Dine on Ashes, an English expression meaning "pondering over past failures". Soon after, a live formation is created, including musical jack-of-all-trades Tom Hedgehog on keyboard, former Transparent Curse bassist Dominique Audenaert and drummer Frank Vandenberghe.

In 2012 Katharine and Dominique leave the band and october 2013, Dine on Ashes introduces Femke Van Buynder as the new singer. Currently the band members are working on their next album.
