State of Time are 5 Belgian friends who, after a series of coincidental jams, decided to start a band. Jams were leading to themes. Themes were leading to ideas. Ideas led us to songs. Those songs were the origin of our debut (and until now our only) demo, "In Retrospect". Its aim is mainly to introduce us as a band to the outside world. What we bring forward could be (broadly) summarised as, on one hand, a mixture of hard rock and riffs with threatening touches. On the other hand there are also dreamy melodic passages, calmer in nature. The instrumental aspect is what matters most to us, with this we always try to draw the basic landscape for each song. It's maybe because of this we're often labelled as 'post-rock' (which is too broad a term to really put a finger on any band). We try to feel what's right for us and then do our own thing with that. If this results in interest among the crowd, then that's a very nice bonus to us! Ofcourse there will always be a need to be compared to others. No problem. We like to be compared. If only it's with artists who really have influenced us. Tool, Russian Circles, A Perfect Circle or Steak Number Eight are prime examples of those.

Repetition is what we try to avoid, so besides the previous there's not much left to say. When we're done with the follow-up of In Retrospect, which we're currently working on, you'll hear more. Much more!
