SCUTIGERA, the name derived from the hononymous centipede, was formed on July 1st, 2010. At first, the band focused on playing covers (e.g. AC/DC, FREE, METALLICA, Mr. BIG, VELVET REVOLVER, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, ...). A few months later, own material was written and a first release was made: Out of Its Cave (EP, 2012), recorded at CCR Studio.

Over the course of the following years, new material has been written. A new release is to see the light of day very soon. SCUTIGERA’s live debut was made in February 2011, at a rock rally in Menen, an excellent opportunity to bring the music to the people.

Another early highlight was headlining the “Week Of The Amateur Arts” in Waregem, showing the band's progress. SCUTIGERA also had the pleasure to open Desselrock at youth house Jakkedoe (pronounced: yak-uh-doo) in Desselgem, sharing the stage with THE BAND OF WILLIES, DE SYNDROMEN, THE COLD FACTS and KENTUCKY DARE DEVILS.

Other live performances include Metal Against Child Cancer (2012, Deerlijk), Metal In flanders (2012, Oudenaarde), Wizzfest (2012, Aalter), Hardrockfest Avelgem (2012), Hardlife Live (2014, De Pit, Terneuzen, NL) and more recently, Showcase Oudenaarde ("Lokale Helden", 2019).

SCUTIGERA has thus far shared the stage with a.o. the following bands: DEVASTATION, ETERNAL BREATH, WIZZARD, BEYOND THE LABYRINTH, DYSCORDIA, VALKYRE, NOTTI DEL TERRORE, EARUPT, POSEYDON, GUILTY AS CHARGED, SPOIL ENGINE, SAILLE, MESSENGER, and more.
