NEWTOWN is a combination of 5 musicians, based in the surroundings of Antwerp (B), embedded in a wide range of ingredients that creates a tasty rock sound, softly boiled or pure in overdrive. It results in a blend of hot bursts of energy with straightforward sounds that touch the heart. NEWTOWN is an indie-rockband, influenced by Badly Drawn Boy, Motorpsycho and Built to Spill.

First EP
NEWTOWN's music has been recorded and mixed at the Ghosttown studio (Deus, Zita Swoon, Rudy Trouve, Das Pop, Mercelis, Dead Man Ray, Yevgueni...) and mastered by Uwe Teichert. This was a great experience for the band, and a challenge to reach, once again, a higher level. The result is this EP, representative of NEWTOWN ’s sound. Listen to these six songs, enjoy, and learn what NEWTOWN is all about: powerful guitars, energizing rhythms, a unique voice. And above all: a mesmerizing sound with no questions asked except for the right ones. The six songs on this EP represent the diversity of the band, that is formed by musicians with different backgrounds and musical tastes; at the same time, these songs make sense as a whole.

Alan Steward is THE live act to see in 2010.

Now on tour in Europe, Alan recently headlined the Fiesta City Festival, Verviers and the World Music Festival in Evergem, Gent. Alan’s unique musical style, ‘electronic world fusion’ fuses exotic instruments, psychedelic music and rock with shades of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. Alan's live performances are a unique experience as Alan takes the audience deep inside the "Temple of Boom" with an 'oriental temple' stage design, custom lasers and lights.

Alan worked with Grammy winners and Platimum winning recording artists from the Temptations to Jermaine Jackson, the Baha Men to the Wailers. Alan’s latest album is entitled “Licensed to Chill”.
